  • General objective of the post: To carry out technical, methodological and research activities in support of the development of technical and research products within the framework of the American Commission on Organisation and Administrative Systems of the Inter-American Conference on Social Security.
  • Working methods:
  • Documents to be submitted by candidates: Complete and updated curriculum vitae, letter of motivation, 2 letters of recommendation, 2 previously published works written by the candidate, documentation in English and Spanish.
  • Position: The person will work under the supervision of the Coordination of CASS Specialists and in coordination with the relevant areas for each task. The role does not involve staff management.

 

Education and Previous Experience

 

  • University degree in Public Administration or a related field.
  • Master's degree in health, public health, social security, or systems management.
  • Demonstrated experience or training in process management, administrative systems, and the utilization of innovative technologies for the enhancement of social protection and security systems.
  • Deep understanding of the historical context and future perspectives of social security in the Americas and the Caribbean.
  • Previous experience in applied research, specialized consultancy, and research is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Spanish

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and Evaluate Decision-Making Factors: Analyze and assess the critical elements that influence decision-making within the organizational and administrative framework of social security.
  • Timely Advisory Support: Offer timely guidance to the CISS bodies as needed, particularly on organizational and administrative system matters of social security.
  • Formulate International Cooperation Strategies: Develop strategies for the implementation of international cooperation agreements within the context of organizational and administrative systems for social security.
  • Effective Communication and Negotiation: Engage in effective communication and negotiation with regulators, authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise and Support: Provide valuable technical assistance in the formulation, execution, and evaluation of work plans for the American Commissions on Social Security (CASS).
  • Active Participation in CASS Meetings: Attend CASS meetings with the privilege of addressing technical and research-related topics.
  • Coordination and Collaborative Work: Collaborate with individuals designated by the Secretary General to create documents, tools, technical inputs, and other relevant materials.
  • Comprehensive Progress Reporting: Furnish punctual and comprehensive updates on the advancement of deliverables to the CISS General Secretariat.
  • Additional Coordinated Activities: Undertake other relevant tasks related to your area of expertise in coordination with the CISS Secretary General.
