
The American Commission on Actuary and Funding (CAAF) has as a mission to provide technical support to the Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS) concerning actuary and funding activities for Social Security. It consists of professionals from the Social Security Agencies of the member countries.
The Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS) is an international organization that was formally created in 1942. In its 79+ years of existence, it has worked on Social Security and Welfare in the Americas.
Pursuant to its Bylaws, the Conference consists of foundational bodies, such as: a) the General Assembly; b) the Standing Committee; c) the General Secretariat; d) the American Commissions on Social Security (CASS); e) the Inter-American Center on Social Security Studies (CIESS); f) the Controller’s Office; and g) the Sub-Regions.
CASS are bodies specialized in relevant topics of interest to the Americas and the Caribbean, discussing relevant matters that are cross-sectional with Social Security. CASS are the technical support bodies coordinated by CISS as to meet its goals and targets. CISS currently has six Commissions.
